Welcome to Buddy's Mercantile

Buddy's mercantile was founded 20 or so years ago by Burton Sveine. In the beginning, it was called Buddy’s Wild Rice and mainly sold various types of Minnesota and Canadian wild rice. Some was machine parched, some hand parched. Over the years, Buddy has added many types of jelly and jams, as well as soup mixes, natural locally produced maple syrup and honey, pancake mixes, homemade soaps, and dry packaged foods.

We took a big step by building a new store. The front is retail space, while internet sales, shipping, and storage will be in the rear. No need to find us across town or down some back road....we are right next door to the old place! Parking is provided along side the building. We have added many new products to our store. Some include local coffee, Watkins products, nostolgic candy, old fashioned toys, and local art.

Stop in and see what's new as you come through Two Harbors, MN on Highway 61. Sit on the covered porch and talk to Buddy about life and don't forget to replenish your supplies on-line. Have a Rice Day!
